Ascophyllum nodosum represents a precious source of active ingredients for several formulations.
HARVESTING AREA
Algea harvests Ascophyllum nodosum in the arctic environment (extreme light conditions, waves and cold icy waters, tides, winds, salinity and dessication, grazing pressure) where the extreme and stressful conditions influence the chemical composition of the seaweed, forcing it to evolve chemical means as a response to each kind of challenge given by nature.
HARVESTING TIMING
Thanks to the chemical characterization of Ascophyllum nodosum made through the investigative strategies of GeaPower® we know that the concentration of the active ingredients changes throughout the year. This feature of Ascophyllum nodosum influence both some extraction methods and the final product.

FORMULATION
The GeaPower® approach is based on optimized extraction processes and combined with other powerful ingredients in a final formulation that allow us to use the different Ascophyllum nodosum extracts in creating specific solutions. The final goal is to develop synergies among plant extracts, other actives (like micronutrients, carbohydrates, etc…) and seaweed extracts to have formulations that act on specific physiological processes of the plant.
